Using the website and the offers of GLS SERVICES AG partly requires the collection, processing and use of certain personal data. In doing so, we place the greatest importance on data protection and data security, and we comply with the respectively applicable data protection provisions.

I. Collection and storage of personal data

Personal data covers all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (e.g. name, address, telephone number, date of birth or email address).

Processing means any operation carried out with or without the aid of automated procedures or any such procedure in conjunction with personal data such as the collection, recording, organization, filing, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, querying, usage, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or any other form of provision, reconciliation or linking, restriction, deletion or destruction of your data. All this takes place solely in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.

We collect and store, to a certain extent, information that is accrued during use of the website (usage data, see 1). We collect and store personal information insofar as you give us your consent to do so in conjunction with the use of our online offers, such as when you register to subscribe to online publications, or for processing enquiries sent using our contact form or by email (master and content data, see 2.).

No prior registration is required to simply visit the website of BISSWISS AG. In this case, the following information is automatically transmitted by your web browser and stored by us in so-called log files:

Browser type and version
Operating system being used
IP address of the host computer
Date and time when you access our web pages
Web page from which you visit us (referrer URL)
Web page that you are visiting
Access method/function required by the PC making the request
Input values (e.g. file name) transferred by the computer making the request
Access status of the web server (file transferred, file not found, command not executed, etc.)

These log files are stored by us for a maximum of 60 days for the sole purpose of identifying malfunctions and for security reasons (e.g. to clarify attempted attacks) and are then deleted. Log files that have to be retained for evidence purposes are not deleted. These are stored until the respective incident has been finally clarified and can be forwarded in individual cases to investigating authorities for the purpose of identifying and tracing unauthorized access to the web server and other criminal offences. Furthermore, these log files can be statistically and anonymously evaluated by us to optimize our website. This anonymous data is stored separately from any master and content data you may have submitted so that no conclusions can be drawn about a particular person. This data is deleted after it has been evaluated.

2. Master and content data

If registration is required to use our online services and digital platforms or you otherwise provide us with personal data via the website, GLS SERVICES AG generally collects and stores the following data:

First name and family name
Phone number
Email address

This will be supplemented by information given to us by you on a purely voluntary basis which may contain personal data. Examples of such voluntary details:

Address
Phone number
Age, date of birth
Nationality

3. Processing purposes and legal basis

If you send us enquiries using the contact form, we will store your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you have entered there, for the purpose of processing the enquiries and for the event that follow-up questions should arise. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The data entered in the contact form is therefore processed solely on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR, General Data Protection Regulation). You can withdraw this consent at any time. Just send us an informal notification. The legality of the data processing activities conducted up until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data entered by you in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, or you revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected by this provision.

We use the foregoing master and content data solely to the extent permitted by your notice of consent.

4. Duration of retention

We store your data for as long as this is necessary for the provision of our online offer and the associated services or if we have a justified interest in its continued retention. We delete your personal data in all other cases.

II. Cookies

So-called cookies are used when you visit the website at www.gl-se.com. These are small text files which are stored locally in the cache of your web browser and enable the browser to be identified, and through which certain information flows to us. They enable us, for example, to make your visit to our website more convenient and user-friendly. No names, postal addresses or email addresses are stored in the cookies; they only contain an online identification. This data is removed from the session after it is ended; the session cookie is deleted.

If you want to disallow the use of cookies, you can prevent the acceptance and storage of new cookies in your browser. Refer to the help function of your browser, for example, to find out how to do this in your browser. We cannot, however, guarantee that you will be able to use all our offers without restrictions if such settings are configured in your browser. Please note that objections to the creation of usage profiles may in part function by means of an “opt-out cookie”. If you delete all the cookies, an objection may possibly no longer be taken into account and you will have to submit your objection again.
